Amber Britton mostly paints and draws, but is not afraid to use alternative mediums. She is a pattern-lover, and nature enthusiast whose creative journey began in the colorful heart of Colorado. A graduate of the University of Colorado Boulder with a BFA in Painting and Drawing (2010), Amber has always been captivated by the interplay of color, form, and feeling. Since relocating to Utah in 2013, she’s found endless inspiration in the state’s wildly diverse landscapes—from red rock deserts to alpine forests—each one a muse in its own right.
Amber’s work is a kaleidoscope of influences: the overwhelming sense of connection and disconnection with flora, fauna, and landscape of a place, swirling psychedelia of the 1960s, the intricate beauty of global folk art, and the quiet magic of micro-environments like mossy-lichened tree branches or the aquatic universe hidden underneath a river rock. Her paintings and drawings are immersive explorations of how we emotionally and psychologically respond to the natural world .
